| When I started my career in real estate I quickly decided that the normal realtor office environment was not what I wanted. I wasn’t interested in hurrying customers into purchases and sales just to make my monthly numbers and commissions. Being a real estate professional should not be about making numbers. It should be about protecting and understanding the client. I believe that the agent's role is to help the consumer make well-educated decisions, even if those decisions lead away from a purchase or sale. In the end, it is the client who has to be satisfied and that's my goal. That's how I want to build my business.
I became a licensed sales person in 2003 and after two years I took the second exam for my Broker's license. I also earned my Graduate Realtor Institute designation in 2006 and my Council of Residential Specialists designation in 2007. I believe that education is vital in this industry. I currently have over 500 hours of real estate courses on my transcript with the State of Texas. I hope to keep adding to that number every year. I invite you to check that number against my competition. The industry changes all the time and agents who do not stay current on their education, especially agents who have been in the business for years and years, are not doing their best for their clients.
Opening Texas Pride Realty was always a goal of mine and I am working night and day to be sure it is successful. The best way to do that is to be sure clients are satisfied and agents are busy. From day one in real estate my first broker, Deb Elder, set me on the course to get my broker's license and eventually own my own business. I want my agents to follow the same star if that's what they wish. What better legacy could someone leave in this industry than a group of well-trained, high-quality brokers who do your job better than you?
